We picked 34 lbs of fresh blueberries in about an hour this weekend. It was fun! Now we have a bunch of blueberries, and I need a plan for what to do with them!

1. Dehydrate them

Nourishing Days has a great recipe for Dehydrated Blueberries. What a yummy snack, and a great addition to baked goods! And store-bought dehydrated blueberries are hard to find and expensive!

2. Make Jam!

I would like to try this Wild Blueberry Chia Seed Jam from Healthy Living How To, but I’ll try to make it with honey instead of stevia. There’s also this awesome looking Blueberry Lavender Rhubarb Jam from Healthy Green Kitchen.

3. Make Gelato! 

Weed ‘em and Reap shares this awesome looking Blueberry Lemon Gelato, which can be made with sugar or honey.

4. Make Muffins!

I’ve got a Coconut Flour Blueberry Muffin recipe right here on this site. Health Extremest has a coconut flour, Paleo Blueberry Muffin Recipe, and I have one too! Nourished Kitchen has a Grain-free Blueberry Almond Crumb Muffin on her site (which is a guest post by Mommypotamus). There are also these Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins from Strands of My Life, or these gluten free Blueberry Muffins from Clean Eats in the Zoo.

5. Make a Smoothie!

Try this Blueberry Banana Kefir Smoothie with Avocado from Girl Meets Nourishment or this Cucumber Blueberry Smoothie from Mama’s Blissful Bites. This Peach Blueberry Cobbler Smoothie from Homemade Mommy looks yummy, too!

6. Make Tarts!

7.  Juice Them!

I plan to try to make this Blueberry Sorbet recipe with honey instead of sugar. It’s from Home Grown and Healthy. This Watermelon & Blueberry “Ice Cream!” is pretty much like a sorbet, as well.

11. Make Coffee Cake!

There’s a Egg and Grain Free (and sugar free) Blueberry Coffee Cake recipe at Grass Fed Girl! And try my GAPS Blueberry Banana Coffee Cake while you’re at it! :) This GAPS Blueberry Banana Bread from Gutsy looks similar, and yummy!

12.  Make Burgers with them

Yup! I’d never heard of that either, until I saw this Blueberry Bison Burger recipe from The Healthy Home Economist.

13. Make Blueberry Kefir!

14. Make Mini Loaves of Bread!

    Great ideas for using blueberries, and they all translate to saskatoon berries as well, which are found in my area, although they’re a bit smaller.

    #26 could have been “Make Black & Blue Wine.” We are currently picking blueberries from my sister’s many bushes and also collecting wild blackberries over the next several weeks to make this. (The recipe calls for wild blackberries.) My sister made a batch of Black & BLue Wine for the first time last year and we recently tried a bottle. It was so delicious that she wants to pick enough this year to make a 5-gallon batch! The combination of the blueberries and wild blackberries in this wine is uber delectable!
