When you’re on a special diet like GAPS, holidays and get-togethers can be a major stressor. I’ve searched around for some great recipes for you to enjoy this 4th of July, whether your on GAPS or you simply like REAL food! Enjoy!
To start things off….
Everything wrapped in bacon (except chocolate!) is amazing, so what about these Bacon Wrapped Sweet Potato Bites? Not GAPS legal, but sweet potatoes are an ok cheat after you’re feeling a lot better, I think!
If you can find these GAPS Legal Little Smokies, you could do a lot with them. Wrap them in bacon, make a honey-barbecue sauce, etc.
What about the main dish?
I recently made these amazing Barbecued Ribs for my family and they were a hit!
You might want to try Kelly’s Charcoaled Pork Roast with French Brine. Yummy!
Maybe you prefer Grilled Pork Chops with Mushrooms?
If you’re not a fan of pork, this Balsamic Flank Steak is GREAT!
Or maybe, try these super easy and tasty Parmesan Drumsticks!
For a less expensive main dish, try some Sloppy Joes for a change!

Maybe you’ll enjoy my Green Bean Salad! I think it’s a good one!
Carrot Raisin Salad is a staple around here, and even SAD eaters tend to like it!
I LOVE this Cucumber Tomato Salad (the Lettuce Wraps are pretty awesome, too!).
And of course, dessert–the most important part of the meal in my opinion!

This is not GAPS, but doesn’t this REAL Food Berry Custard look yummy? If you can tolerate sprouted flours, go for it!
