Maple Syrup Coconut Milk Mocha Recipe –Paleo!
I haven’t always been a coffee drinker. You can blame my husband. Yup, it’s all his fault. ๐ I was the tea drinker, and he was the coffee drinker, and he kept begging me to come to the dark side and join him. Anyone else have the same kind of situation going on? And once you’re on the dark side, it’s hard to leave it, isn’t it Anakin? Oh, I mean–sorry, we’re not talking about Star Wars here. ๐ These days,ย I’ve been eating pretty much grain-free, dairy-free, and sugar only on rare occasions. One day I decided to make up a mocha that wouldn’t be “cheating.” I’ve been drinking it…

Honey-Sweetened Chocolate Milk
We got a cow a month ago. A DAIRY COW, named Violet! I have wanted a dairy cow ever since I can remember. And now we have one! The best part about having a dairy cow? Fresh, raw milk–every single day. And do you know the best thing to do with fresh, raw milk? Make chocolate milk, of course! I mix this wonderful sweetness up in my Vitamix or pour it in a pitcher and use an immersion blender. I tried using a cheap little frothing tool from Ikea and it was worthless. ๐ Did any one else have a great grandmother with a metal chocolate milk shaker something…

Homemade Sangria with Honey
I am not a big alcohol drinker. I can count the number of times in my life that I’ve ever had alcohol. I don’t like it much. I like really good quality red wine (the expensive stuff!), and Sangrias, and that’s pretty much it. Sangrias are nice because they’re so fruity and sweet, you hardly notice that you’re drinking any alcohol. ๐ I purchased all of these ingredients (besides the honey, because we buy wholesale from a local apiary) from Trader Joes. I like Trader Joes, because I think they make it easy to buy and cook real food. There’s a lot of not-so-real-food there, too (avoid the candy, box…

The Farmer and I enjoy having some kind of “treat” after the kids go to bed. Last night I came up with this easy, amazing drink! Honey Peppermint Hot Chocolate
First, don’t forget about our give away!!! My family has a tradition: every time we decorate the tree, we have hot chocolate. And since we decorated the tree on Sunday, we had hot chocolate! This is the most you will get to see of foster son, because I am not allowed to show his face on the internet. You can see that he completely unbuttoned his shirt, put it on inside out, and buttoned it up again. That kid has talent! ๐ You can see The Farmer’s face though. And Farm Princess 1! This is the ONE good photo I got with her eyes open. She’s got a blinking problem!…

Orange Cantaloupe Smoothie
This is another area where my taste buds have grown up: cantaloupe. I never liked it, ever. I can tolerate it now, and even enjoy it in a smoothie like this! Simple & refreshing, and a great addition to breakfast–or perfect for an afternoon thirst quencher/energy booster after being in the sun! (Or, don’t add the ice and pour it into popsicle molds for a frozen treat!!) ย Orange Cantaloupe Smoothie Ingredients 1 cantaloupe 4 oranges 2 c ice Instructions Remove the rind of the cantaloupe and scoop out the seeds. Cut into large chunks. Peel the oranges, remove seeds. Place the cantaloupe, oranges and ice into a Vita Mix,…
