Hi Denise!
For our family I throw some winter veggies (carrots, onions, etc) in the bottom of the crock with some water and then put in two pork butt roasts with lots of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
We enjoy one of the roasts, but save one for dinner. I shred it and then for dinner put it onto this salad:

We love it! Especially as it seems like two totally different meals! =)
